Groundwater is an irreplaceable resource for people and nature.

Our mission is advancing scientific research
and engaging with governments and organizations
to secure water resources in British Columbia and around the world.

Here's what we're excited about:

Two World Water Day events focused on groundwater!
New videos from diverse voices coming soon!
Writing our mission statement

Who are we?

I am a hydrologist interested in groundwater sustainability, mega-scale groundwater systems, groundwater recharge and discharge, and fluid flow around geologic structures.  My goal is fundamental and applied research to enable sustainable groundwater use. Check out my departmental web-page for more details.

UVic's Groundwater Science and Sustainability (GSAS) research group integrates geocomputation, data science, numerical modelling, field hydrogeology, geochemistry, structural geology, and sustainability science. We are engineers and geoscientists from around the world, as you can see on our people page.

We love where we live and work, in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, Canada where deer stroll around our neighbourhoods and where views of the ocean and mountains abound.

We acknowledge with respect the Lekwungen peoples on whose traditional territory the university stands and the Songhees, Esquimalt and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
